One night, after I had gotten out, I was at my local Legion post for a quick beer and a friend of my father had sat down beside me and was talking to me about my time in the military. He said that he knew for a fact that my dad would consider it an honor to be my sponsor and introduce me into the American Legion, once the dates changed.
